In view of the Gartner Application Architecture, Development & Integration Summit (4 - 5 June 2018 | London, UK) Gartner summarized the advantages of Hybrid Integration Platforms (HIP) as an emerging trend - and we at JobRouter recognized our platform immediately:
What are Hybrid Integration Platforms (HIP)?
Gartner assumes that Hybrid Integration Platforms (HIP) will establish themselves as the company's "home", as integration, networking and replacement of the IT silo landscape will be the driving factors in the digital transformation by 2020. On the one hand, this involves connecting existing systems quickly and easily using an iPaaS or API-based platform, such as JobRouter®, for example, and shortening integration times:

A true HIP should span and support all four of the following dimensions:
Personas (constituents): Integration specialists, ad hoc integrators, citizen integrators and digital integrators
Integration domains: Application, data, B2B and process
Endpoints: On-premises devices, the cloud, mobile devices and IoT devices
Deployment models: Cloud (potentially across multiple environments), on-premises, hybrid (cloud and on-premises) and embedded in IoT devices
On the other hand, thanks to new technologies such as AI, IoT or RPA, business processes are becoming increasingly complex and are therefore accessing a wide variety of applications in the workflow. This new complexity makes transparency and traceability more difficult and creates inefficiencies. In addition, the IT department is no longer solely responsible for digital structures, but a wide variety of departments must have access to systems, applications or tools - and this influence is set to increase further in the coming years (keyword: low code).
The HIP is the “home” for all functionalities that ensure the smooth integration of multiple digital transformation initiatives in an organization.

Platform approach reduces complexity and creates room for independence
The platform approach should offer a solution for this. Gartner predicts that hybrid integration platforms for corporate digitization will be in use by over 65 percent of corporations and large organizations by 2022. Therefore, according to Gartner, the change should already go towards an approach that enables HIP-based, self-service integrations for business units, branches, teams within application development and possibly business users. They should be empowered by API platforms to quickly and easily network and access required systems, data or documents according to the requirement at any time.
To achieve this, however, all departments must work together and make a realistic assessment of the requirements and required functions. If IT is no longer solely in charge, only platform-based communication between users and systems can bridge the gap between isolated solutions and actually map digital processes throughout the company. However, Gartner anticipates that most hybrid integration platforms will have problems mapping highly complex integration scenarios because they lack functionality.
